Job summary

Slalom is seeking a Senior Principal Databricks Lead to join our Databricks practice in Boston. You will sit at the intersection of Slalom’s Databricks business unit, regional sales teams, industry leaders, solution architects, and partner teams.

You will shape high-impact pursuits, bring technical clarity to complex client problems, and design solutions that connect Databricks’ Data Intelligence Platform with Slalom’s broader consulting and delivery capabilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in consulting, data architecture, analytics, AI, or cloud engineering.
• 5+ years designing and delivering modern data platforms in cloud environments.
• 3+ years leading technical presales, solutioning, or pursuit processes.
• Familiarity with GenAI, agentic AI, RAG, ML/LLMOps, model evaluation, model serving, and governed AI patterns.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP data services; storage, networking, IAM, databases, compute, security controls.
• Ability to translate complex technical topics into business value for executives and technical buyers.
• Background in data modeling, data pipeline development, DevOps, CI/CD, migration, and production platform operations.
• Track record of growing client relationships and collaborating with partner field teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Databricks Solution Strategy with sales and Databricks teams to shape pursuits and create proposals, demos, and SOWs.
• Architect modern data and AI platforms across data engineering, lakehouse, data warehousing, analytics, ML, GenAI, and agentic AI workloads.
• Advise clients on Databricks capabilities including Unity Catalog, Lakeflow, Delta Lake, Databricks SQL, and related tools.
• Develop TCO, ROI, modernization narratives to illustrate business impact of Databricks investments.
• Drive partner-led growth by identifying and expanding opportunities with Databricks field teams and Slalom market teams.
• Create repeatable solutions: reference architectures, accelerators, and sales plays for scaling the partnership.
• Provide technical oversight during pursuit-to-delivery transitions to ensure secure, well-scoped client outcomes.
