Job summary

Dow Inc. is seeking a Database Service Manager to architect and lead database platform solutions in Midland, MI or Houston, TX. You will guide RDBMS implementations, cloud and hybrid deployments, and drive performance with cost efficiency.

You will collaborate with IT leadership, architecture, and managed services to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable database operations, including backup, HA, DR, and lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant or 8 years of experience in lieu of a bachelors degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a closely related field.
• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Architect, Design and Implement database solutions including backup/recovery, HA and DR.
• Collaborate with Database IT Leader and Enterprise Architecture teams to develop and maintain database technologies roadmap.
• Partner with Database Managed Services to ensure timely delivery of operations and support SLAs.
• Manage changes, incidents and problems with SLA adherence across database platforms.
• Coordinate with Cloud and On-premise teams to deliver low-TCO, high-performance database solutions.
• Maintain Dow’s database inventory and licensing needs.
• Assist IT Leadership in evaluating new solutions and vendor proposals.
