Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company is seeking a Mid Database Administrator to oversee the stability, performance, and security of enterprise databases supporting mission‑critical systems in a regulated government environment.

You will design structures, optimize performance, manage backups and DR tests, and coordinate with development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to minimize downtime and ensure scalable data services across multiple applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4–7 years of progressive database administration experience with production environments.
• Proficiency with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL and solid DB principles.
• Experience with security (encryption, RBAC, auditing), backup/recovery, data warehousing, ETL, and data integration tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills across enterprise environments.
• Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain/maintain as required.
• U.S. citizenship and willingness to travel < 10%.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize production and non-production DB instances (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Design and tune indexing, statistics, and query plans for high‑volume workloads.
• Develop and execute robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies and tests.
• Implement advanced security controls to protect sensitive data in regulated environments.
• Lead database upgrades, patching, and cross‑environment migrations to manage risk and downtime.
• Design and support data integration solutions using ETL tools and scripts.
• Perform capacity planning, storage management, and archival strategies.
