Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 0–3 years of hands-on experience in database administration or closely related roles.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Foundational understanding of database structures, normalization, indexing, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with database security, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery concepts.
• Active SECRET security clearance and ability to maintain clearance as required by the client.
• Security+ or other DoD IAT-II compliant certification
• U.S. citizenship and willingness to travel less than 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day administration of relational database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Monitor database health and performance; identify bottlenecks and optimize queries.
• Execute backups and restores; support disaster recovery testing.
• Implement security controls: user provisioning, RBAC, auditing.
• Install patches and minor upgrades across development, test, and production environments.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and support data access changes for releases.
• Apply normalization, indexing, and query plan knowledge to optimization.
• Maintain documentation of configurations and changes for compliance.
