Job summary

ASM Research in the United States is seeking a Mid Database Administrator to ensure the stability, performance, and security of enterprise databases supporting mission-critical systems. You will design structures, indexing, capacity plans, and coordinate with development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams across regulated environments.

You will lead patching, upgrades, migrations, and recovery exercises, while maintaining high availability for Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 4–7 years of progressive database administration experience.
• Proficiency with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with database security, backup/recovery, disaster recovery planning, and data integration.
• Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain/maintain clearance.
• U.S. citizenship and willingness to travel <10%.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize production and non-production DB instances (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Design and tune indexing, statistics, and query execution plans for performance.
• Develop and execute robust backup, restore, and DR strategies and lead recovery tests.
• Implement encryption, RBAC, privileged account management, and auditing for data security.
• Plan and execute DB upgrades, patching, and cross-environment migrations.
• Design and support data integration using ETL tools across databases and warehouses.
• Perform capacity planning, storage management, and archival strategies.
• Troubleshoot incidents like deadlocks, long jobs, and resource contention.
