Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is looking for a Mid Database Administrator to ensure the stability, performance, and security of enterprise databases supporting mission‑critical government systems in regulated environments.

You will design structures, indexing strategies, and capacity plans, and lead maintenance activities like patches, upgrades, migrations, and recovery tests while coordinating with development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 4–7 years of progressive database administration experience.
• Proficiency with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with database security, backup and recovery, DR planning, and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize production and non‑production DB instances (Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• Design and tune indexing, statistics, and query plans for high performance.
• Develop and test backups, restores, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Implement security controls including encryption, RBAC, auditing.
• Lead upgrades, patching, and cross‑environment migrations to minimize downtime.
• Design and support data integration through ETL tools and scripts.
• Perform capacity planning and storage management for performance and cost balance.
• Troubleshoot incidents related to locking, deadlocks, and resource contention.
