Job summary

enGen is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement, maintain and support a broad data protection stack across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will work with senior engineers on DLP, DSPM solutions and data de-identification with tools like Purview, ForcePoint, BigID and Varonis.

The role requires hands-on scripting (PowerShell, Python) and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure policy compliance and security posture. Remote or office-based work options are available.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention
• 5 years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis
• 5 years deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software
• 5 years of experience creating and managing DLP policies
• 3 years in two programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell)
• 3 years cloud architecture experience with GCP, AWS or Azure

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain components of data protection infrastructure across platforms and vendors, including DLP and DSPM
• Collaborate on design and implementation of data protection solutions across on‑prem and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Configure and maintain data protection policies including sensitive info types and detection parameters
• Troubleshoot data protection incidents and perform root-cause analyses
• Contribute to projects with testing, implementation and documentation
• Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) to improve deployment and maintenance
• Collaborate with team to expand data protection knowledge
• Stay current with data protection tech, best practices and compliance requirements
• Perform other duties as needed
