Job summary

Guardian Life is seeking a Data Exchange Analyst II to design and maintain internal data-exchange workflows, and to provide day-to-day support for EDI analysts. You will coordinate requirements with third-party administrators and troubleshoot data issues for external partners.

The role emphasizes collaboration with IT, data engineers, and benefits providers, with experience in 834/CSV outputs and API connections improving cross-system data flows.

Qualifications

  • Identifies and resolves procedural gaps within complex multi-step workflows.
  • Experience with Benefit Administration platforms (e.g., Employee Navigator, Workday, Plansource, ADP, Hello Flock, Rippling, Paylocity).
  • Strong ability to manipulate data files to produce output in 834 and CSV formats.
  • Exhibits flexibility handling multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
  • Experience with API connections (HTTP, REST, Web API).
  • Excellent oral and written communication; team-oriented.
  • Insurance industry experience preferred; college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain internal workflows for data exchange.
  • Provide day-to-day support to EDI Business Process Analysts.
  • Coordinate validation of requirements with third‑party administrators.
  • Troubleshoot data and processing issues for external partners.
  • Coordinate implementation strategies for EDI/API connections (Plan Level, EOI, Member Eligibility).
  • Act as liaison between business and IT; supply data requirements to plan holders.
  • Assist third‑party administrators to understand capabilities and Guardian standards.
