Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals seeks an experienced program and workforce development leader to design and oversee training, education, and capacity-building initiatives across the system. You will manage a team delivering large-scale training and partner with leadership to align initiatives with data-driven goals.

Responsibilities include developing curricula, evaluating program impact, and collaborating across departments to enable staff adoption of analytics and governance standards.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Public Health, Psychology, Personnel Administration, Management or Public Administration, or a related approved discipline; and,
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in planning and workforce development and training programs medical or public health administration or other areas related to training, development and workforce analysis, of which at least two (2) years must have been in a managerial, supervisory or administrative capacity related to the organization, formulation, development and implementation of such plans and programs; or,
• A master degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Management, Social Work, Medical Administration, Psychology, Personnel Administration, Public Administration, or a related approved discipline with four (4) years of experience as described in (2), and two (2) years in a managerial, supervisory or administrative capacity; or,
• A satisfactory combination of training, education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops, plans and establishes training, educational and development programs to enhance skills and meet forecasted needs.
• Manages day-to-day activities of the group training section including planning, supervision, coordination and direction.
• Provides consulting on management problems, training needs and external educational resources.
• Directs research to determine management and employee training needs and manages program implementation.
• Develops customized training programs to satisfy operational needs; evaluates effectiveness and recommends improvements.
• Coordinates training sector activities with other units and supervises staff and program administration.
