Job summary

Hospital for Special Surgery seeks a Director of Data Enablement and Automation to lead how data, AI, and automation empower clinical, research, and operational teams. You will drive scalable enablement across data platforms and AI agents, partnering with data science and engineering to embed onboarding and guidance into workflows.

The role requires 7+ years of experience in automation, AI enablement, and data product lifecycles, with a healthcare-domain preference.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience designing and implementing automation, data, AI enablement, or related solutions across multiple technologies and business functions.
• Deep hands-on familiarity with modern generative AI capabilities, LLM tooling, prompt design, agentic workflows, automation technologies, and data product lifecycles.
• Proficiency with modern automation, integration, API, cloud, and data platform technologies.
• Product-Led Enablement & Adoption: scalable approaches to technology adoption and workforce enablement, bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Data-Driven Evaluation & Human-Centered Design: use analytics, funnels, telemetry and feedback to inform iteration.
• Healthcare Experience: experience with healthcare data or regulated domains preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and advance a scalable strategy for data enablement, automation, AI adoption and workforce capability across HSS Data.
• Design iterative, metric-driven enablement experiences and ensure adoption are built into data, AI and technology products.
• Partner with data science, AI, and product engineering teams to integrate onboarding, guidance, and adoption frameworks into AI agents and data platforms.
• Identify emerging generative AI, automation, and data technologies; translate them into scalable business workflows.
• Build AI-enabled workflows that integrate foundation models, AI agents, automation, and data services.
• Measure adoption and business impact with quantitative metrics and feedback loops.
• Ensure responsible deployment with security, privacy, governance in healthcare.
