Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a Training and Workforce Development professional to design, implement and manage education programs across the system. Under general direction, you will develop, plan and establish training initiatives to enhance skills and meet forecasted needs.

You will oversee day-to-day operations of the training group, supervise staff, coordinate with other units, evaluate program effectiveness, and advise on improvements.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Education, Public Health, Psychology, Personnel Administration, Management or Public Administration, or related approved discipline.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in planning and workforce development and training programs in medical or public health administration or related areas, with at least two years in a managerial, supervisory or administrative capacity.
• Master degree with four (4) years of experience as described, and two (2) years in a managerial, supervisory or administrative capacity; or a satisfactory combination of training, education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and establishes training, educational and development programs to enhance skills and meet forecasted skill requirements of the System.
• Manages and administers the day-to-day activities of the group training section including planning, supervision, coordination, control and direction.
• Supervises training specialists, analysts and support staff; evaluates staffing and performance to maximize efficiency.
• Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs and suggests modifications or new programs.
• Coordinates the activities of the training sector with other training sectors and monitors progress.
• Provides technical advice and guidance to managers on education and development needs.

Education
