Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Telecom Section Manager to lead telecommunications scope on data center projects within the ICT Department. You will guide design from concept through delivery, coordinate with SME leads, and ensure on-time completion across concurrent projects.

Ideal candidates bring PE or RCDD credentials, extensive data center telecom experience, and strong budget and schedule management. This role offers a hybrid work policy across US locations with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience actively leading designs for telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience managing a small team.
• Credential as an RCDD.
• Experience with data center construction.
• Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Revizto.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Experience with responding to RFPs.
• Experience creating budgets and project schedules.
• Experience identifying and mitigating company risk.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and assigning a team of leads across projects and clients.
• Forecasting projects and staffing resources.
• Budgeting resources for multiple projects.
• Guiding and mentoring project leads through design processes.
• Reviewing and modifying DIV 27 specifications.
• Conducting site visits.
• Reviewing technical documents.
• Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicating with department managers and telecom leads to meet deadlines.
