Job summary

Google Council Bluffs, IA, USA is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware servers and related components. You will work with Google's Linux cluster software and network infrastructure, including configuring routers, switches and related protocols.

The role requires hands-on data center experience, willingness to perform physical maintenance, and ability to work non-standard hours on shift-based schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience with performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
• Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware and server hardware.
• Experience with networking protocols.
• Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) of equipment and physically demanding work.
• Must be able to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays, and shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across teams.
• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment or infrastructure.
• Maintain the security and integrity of data and ensure proper data sanitization.
• Disassemble equipment at end-of-life and perform part replacements.
• Repair, preventively maintain equipment, servers, and infrastructure.
