Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician III for Networking Operations in Council Bluffs, IA. The role focuses on installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining hardware and server software within Google’s data centers.

You will work on networks, routers, hubs, switches, and related protocols, while leading small project teams on installations. The position requires physical work, flexibility for non-standard hours, and experience in data center operations, Linux, and project

Qualifications

Experience with performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment.
Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware and server hardware.
Experience with networking protocols.
Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) and perform physical tasks over extended periods.
Willingness to work non-standard hours, including weekends and nights.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across teams.
Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues with equipment or infrastructure.
Maintain security and integrity of data per Google security standards.
Disassemble equipment at end-of-life via part replacement within teams.
Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and servers as needed.
