Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test and maintain hardware such as servers and components in its cutting-edge data centers. You will work with Google's Linux-based systems and network gear, performing repairs, upgrades and preventative maintenance as part of a collaborative operations team.

This role requires physical ability to move heavy equipment, willingness to work non-standard hours, and experience in data center environments.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing and troubleshooting IT equipment at component level.
• Experience diagnosing operating systems, computer hardware and server hardware.
• Experience with networking protocols.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate data center infrastructure across teams.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment or infrastructure as issues arise.
• Maintain data security and integrity following Google standards.
• Disassemble end-of-life equipment for part replacement.
• Perform preventative maintenance on servers and infrastructure.
