Job summary

Google is seeking a Share Data Center Technician III, Operations in Red Oak, TX. You will install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software, with focus on component repairs and data center operations.

You will engage in or lead small project teams, handle physical tasks like rack installations, and work non-standard hours as needed. Strong Linux experience and leadership are valued in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in maintenance and monitoring of server systems.
• Experience with component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment or in a similar role (e.g. Systems Administration, Network Deployment Engineer, Help Desk Technician).
• Experience working within a data center or network operation center environment.
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Experience in project management and leadership, and collaborating and partnering with teams.

Responsibilities

• Repair and troubleshoot hardware, servers, and components.
• Configure, install, test, and maintain data center hardware and server software.
• Lead small project teams on installations and develop contingency plans.
• Move and install racks and perform physical tasks as required.
• Support data center procedures and troubleshoot complex issues as they arise.
