Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware like servers and components in its data centers. The role involves configuring complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches and networking protocols, often with physical, hands-on work.

The position supports Google’s AI and Infrastructure efforts, delivering scalable, reliable infrastructure for customers including Googlers and Cloud users.

Qualifications

• Experience performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment.
• Experience diagnosing operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willing to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate data center infrastructure across projects.
• Troubleshoot equipment and infrastructure to resolve issues.
• Maintain data security and integrity, including data erasure checks.
• Disassemble end-of-life equipment with a team.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on servers and infrastructure.
