Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Data Center Technician in Leesburg, VA to prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of racks, servers, and networking gear according to documented procedures. You will monitor equipment, perform diagnostics, and escalate issues per standard protocols.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year of IT equipment support, basic MS Office, and willingness to work non-standard hours.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training.
• 2-4 years experience required.
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the system for equipment failure or errors in performance
• Respond to program error messages by finding and correcting problems or terminating the program
• Help programmers and systems analysts test and debug new programs
• Operate spreadsheet programs and other types of software to load and manipulate data and to produce reports
