Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Data Center Technician II to support network infrastructure operations in a large-scale hyperscale data center in New Albany, Ohio. The role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and documenting critical network hardware and cabling we rely on for mission-critical operations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on data center experience, knowledge of structured cabling, low-voltage systems, and basic networking concepts, with a willingness to relocate or travel

Qualifications

• 1+ year hands-on technical experience in data center operations.
• Experience with hardware installation, rack and stack.
• Experience with telecommunications and structured cabling.
• Understanding of networking concepts: switches, routers, fiber, copper.
• Ability to pass background screenings and site access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, rack, stack, cable, and deploy network equipment including switches, routers, patch panels, and related infrastructure
• Perform hardware replacements and break/fix activities on network devices and components
• Install, label, route, test, and troubleshoot both fiber optic and copper cabling
• Validate network connectivity, asset records, rack elevations, port maps, and installation documentation
• Support hardware upgrades, deployments, decommissions, and MAC work
• Assist network engineering teams through Smart Hands support and remote troubleshooting activities
• Maintain accurate documentation, ticket updates, inventory records, and work-order completion notes
• Support receiving, inventory management, equipment staging, and asset tracking processes
• Follow established operational, safety, and customer procedures while working in a mission-critical environment
