Job summary

The Archetype Strategy in Ashburn, VA seeks a reliable Data Center Technician to support our high-availability facility. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot server and network hardware in a fast-paced environment, ensuring uptime and operational excellence.

The role requires 1–3+ years in data center or IT support, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

1–3+ years of experience in a data center or IT support environment.
Basic knowledge of servers, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP), and hardware components.
Experience with structured cabling standards.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in hot/cold aisle environments.
Familiarity with ticketing systems and asset management tools.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Rack, stack, and cable servers, network devices, and storage equipment.
Perform hardware installations, upgrades, and replacements (RAM, HDD/SSD, PSUs, NICs).
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, connectivity, and power issues.
Run, label, and manage structured cabling (copper & fiber).
Monitor system alerts and respond to incidents per SLA requirements.
Maintain asset tracking and document installations and tickets.
Perform routine inspections of power and cooling infrastructure.
Follow security, safety, and compliance protocols.
Coordinate with network engineers, system admins, and facilities teams.
