Job summary

Google's Hardware Operations team installs, configures, tests, and maintains servers and components for cutting-edge infrastructure. As an Operations Technician, you will configure complex components, manage networks, routers, switches, and protocols, and lead small project teams on installations.

The role involves physical setup, movement of racks, and working in a demanding data center environment to support Google’s AI and infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to perform component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment.
• Experience in data center or network operations environments.
• Completion of Google IT Support Professional Certificate (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment and infrastructure using prescribed procedures.
• Maintain data security and integrity according to Google standards.
• Disassemble equipment at end-of-life for part replacement or maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, and infrastructure.
