Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician in Atlanta to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software, including complex components like networks, routers, hubs, and switches. You will join the Hardware Operations team, supporting Google’s cutting‑edge AI and infrastructure at scale and collaborating on small project teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on work with racks and physical installations, with shifts and non-standard hours as needed.

Qualifications

Experience troubleshooting hardware and performing component-level repairs.
Experience diagnosing operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
Ability to lift/move 50 lb (23 kg) and work physically over extended periods.
Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays, and shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment or infrastructure according to data center procedures.
Maintain security and integrity of data per Google security standards.
Disassemble equipment reaching end-of-life; perform part replacements in a team setting.
Repair and preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, or infrastructure with defined solutions.
