Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Oregon’s Umatilla region is hiring a Data Center Technician to perform server rack installations, hardware break-fix, and network troubleshooting in support of 24/7 operations.

You will work across data centers, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with engineers and vendors to keep services available. The role requires travel between data center sites as needed, and willingness to work shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

2+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting experience.
2+ years of computer layer 1/2 networking experience.
Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to incidents to maintain service availability.
Serving as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders including engineers and vendors.
Performing on-call duties and participating in maintenance and change management activities.
Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on operational issues.
Helping interview, train and onboard new team members.
