Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Boardman, Oregon is seeking a Data Center Technician to install and repair server hardware, troubleshoot networks, and support 24/7 operations.

The role requires frequent travel between data center locations and may involve shifts that cover days, nights, weekends, and holidays. You will work with a diverse team of engineers and operations staff to maintain uptime, create documentation, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform server rack installations and hardware break-fix on various components; troubleshoot network issues; respond to incidents impacting service availability; escalate as needed.
• Serve as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
• Perform on-call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
• Contribute to documentation and process improvements based on analysis of operational issues.
• Assist in training and onboarding new team members.
