Job summary

IDEX Corporation is seeking a Business Development Manager for Data Center Solutions. You will focus on expanding market share by selling BAND-IT products to hyperscale, colocation, and EPC/MEP partners, leading opportunities from identification to closure.

Reporting to Global Data Center Project Leader, you will build relationships with engineers and contractors, manage long sales cycles (6–18 months), and leverage CRM tools to forecast and drive growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, business, or a related technical field.
• 3–6 years of experience in B2B sales or business development, focused on data center infrastructure, construction fasteners, or structural mechanical solutions.
• Direct experience selling into hyperscalers (e.g., Google, AWS, Meta) or Tier 1 colocation providers.
• Experience in value-engineering products to reduce installation time and operational costs.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Market Development: define and execute a data center market plan to penetrate hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise projects.
• Specification Sales: work with engineers, consultants, and A&E firms to secure product specifications in design-build.
• Relationship Building: build relationships with decision-makers at data center operators and EPC/MEP contractors.
• Project Lifecycle Management: lead full sales cycle from opportunity to proposal, negotiation, and close.
• Consultative Sales & Support: act as an expert on fastening applications during site surveys and design discussions.
• Pipeline Management: use CRM tools to track opportunities and forecast accurately.
• Industry Engagement: represent BAND-IT at data center events to generate leads and raise brand awareness.
