Job summary

Digital Realty Trust is seeking a Critical Facilities Engineer II or Site Engineer II to join our data center Operations team in Needham, MA. The role focuses on mission critical infrastructure including generators, UPS, HVAC, fire/life safety, BMS, and CMMS systems to ensure high availability and SLA adherence.

The candidate will develop SOPs, manage change tickets, and perform incident reporting while supporting 24x7 operations and site improvements under the Manager of Engineering Operations.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in mission critical facilities operating / engineering.
• Hands-on electrical or mechanical skill with non-expertise balance.
• Strong knowledge of UPS systems and cooling architectures.
• Understanding of infrastructure redundancy configurations (N+1, 2N, ATS/STS).
• Familiarity with CMMS, DCIM, and power metering systems.

Responsibilities

• Understand site ME P systems and create accurate one-lines and diagrams.
• Support operation, maintenance and inspections to ensure 100% uptime.
• Create and edit change management tickets and SOPs for site activities.
• Coordinate with contractors and oversee site installations and outages.
• Document incident reports and follow escalation procedures.
