Job summary

Digital Realty is seeking a Site Engineer I to join the Data Center Operations team. You will support daily site operations for one or more data center properties, focusing on mission critical equipment and procedures to ensure peak uptime.

You will contribute to SOPs, change management tickets, incident reporting, and routine maintenance while building expertise in CMMS, BMS, and DCIM systems. Collaboration with the engineering team is essential to meet 24x7 availability.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in mission critical facilities operating / engineering (UPS, HVAC, generators, fire/life safety).
• Hands-on electrical or mechanical skill with cross-discipline competence (electrical with mechanical, or vice versa).
• Strong knowledge of UPS systems and architectures.
• Strong knowledge of various cooling systems and architectures.
• Understanding of infrastructure redundancy configurations and risks (N+1, 2N, ATS/STS).
• Knowledge of energy efficiency principles.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; familiarity with Microsoft Project, Visio or AutoCad.
• Basic understanding of emergency situations and escalation processes.
• Knowledge of CMMS, DCIM, and power metering systems.
• Lift up to 50 pounds; lift and reach on raised floors; climb ladders up to 16 feet.

Responsibilities

• Gain a complete understanding of facility layout and ME P systems and illustrate site one-lines accurately.
• Understand equipment nomenclature, locations, drawings, and specifications.
• Become familiar with SOO’s, SOP’s, EOP’s and customer SLAs.
• Support CMMS data entry, change management work orders, incident reporting.
• Contribute to daily site operation and maintenance/repairs for maximum uptime.
• Develop or improve SOPs for site equipment and procedures.
• Assist in supervision of construction activity and change management processes.
