Job summary

ABB is hiring a data center services leader to run day-to-day activities for the Data Center Services Center of Excellence in the United States. You will oversee surge team operations, ensure service quality, and drive continuous improvement across field service teams. The role reports to the Director of the Data Center Services Center of Excellence.

Remote within the U.S. with a preference for Western/Mountain time zones. Salary range $119,000–$190,400 and eligible for short-term incentive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business or commensurate experience.
• Knowledge of Data Center Start-up and Commissioning strategies, field service personnel development and the electrical industry within the Data Center market
• Knowledge of MS suite of products including MS Project, Google suite of products (Sheets, Docs, Drive, and Slides), SAP, and project issue resolution software (BIM, Compass, CxAlloy, Procore, etc.)..
• Must be able to interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Technical understanding of power delivery equipment: transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, etc.
• Maintain high standards for safety and housekeeping and assure compliance with all environmental regulations
• Strong leadership, clear communication, teamwork, and a proven customerfocused mindset.
• Willing to travel up to 50% of time
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Implements field service strategy aligned with global objectives.
• Drives service availability, quality, and customer experience across all field operations.
• Ensures urgent, customer-focused interactions to drive retention.
• Leads continuous improvement and KPI-based performance management.
• Identifies onsite opportunities to enhance customer operations.
• Oversees Surge Team onboarding, training, compliance, and timesheet validation.
• Provides leadership and development for Field Service Engineers/Technicians.
• Collaborates across ABB teams to assign personnel and resolve issues.
