Job summary

Convergint is seeking a Security Project Technician to install, program, test, and certify security and building automation systems in data center environments. You will act as the primary customer liaison, ensuring high satisfaction while following safety and quality standards.

The role requires experience with electronics, fire/life-safety, and building automation, as well as the ability to read complex schematics and collaborate with managers and engineers.

Qualifications

• College degree or trade school or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years experience in electronic, fire alarm, life safety, or building automation industries.
• Certification in Genetec, Lenel, Software House, Avigilon or similar enterprise-level systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, repair, and service security, fire alarm, life safety, and building automation systems.
• Provide technical support and customer training to maximize satisfaction.
• Read blueprints, schematics, manuals, and wiring diagrams for installation requirements.
• Operate and commission systems; perform start-up and certification testing.
• Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors for on-time delivery.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
