Job summary

Convergint is seeking a Security Project Technician for Amarillo, TX to install, program, and start-up security, fire alarm and building automation systems on data center projects. This full-time role emphasizes customer training and on-site project execution.

You will read blueprints, test equipment, and mentor junior staff while ensuring safety and quality. Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, plus experience with enterprise security platforms, is required.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years experience in electronic, fire alarm or life safety systems.
• Certification in Genetec, Lenel, Software House, Avigilon, or similar enterprise systems.
• College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams and interpret specifications.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, tests, repairs, and services a variety of security, fire alarm, and building automation systems.
• Read complex blueprints and schematics to determine installation requirements.
• Operate and commission systems and provide customer training on startup.
• Mentor less experienced staff and ensure on-site safety and quality.
• Coordinate with project managers and subcontractors to meet timelines and budget.
