Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Security Technician to install, program, start-up, certify, and train customers on Fire, Security, and Building Automation projects. You will interface with customers for technical support, mentor staff, and ensure projects meet budget and schedule while maintaining safety and quality.

Strong background in building automation and fire/life-safety systems is required. The role involves reading blueprints and schematics, operating and testing systems, and

Qualifications

• 5-7 years experience in electronic, fire alarm & life safety, or building automation.
• College degree, trade school or equivalent experience.
• Certification in Genetec, Lenel, SoftwareHouse, Avigilon, or other enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services a substantial variety of systems and equipment including security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.
• Interfaces with customers to provide technical support and training, maximizing satisfaction.
• Reads blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine installation needs; interprets manuals and repairs equipment.
• Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, perform start-up and certification testing, and provide customer training.
• Mentors less-experienced staff and supervises subcontractors; ensures safety, quality and scope adherence.
