Job summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support a large data center project near the Alexandria area. The role focuses on maintaining AP’s safety program and fostering an Incident and Injury Free culture, including delivering safety trainings for project personnel.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years in construction safety, OSHA certifications, and the ability to travel as needed to sites.

Qualifications

2-4 years minimum experience in a construction safety role.
Experience conducting safety trainings.
OSHA 30 and/or OSHA 510 certification preferred.
First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
Ability and willingness to travel.
STS-C certificate or ability to obtain within first 6 months.
Competent in excavation, trenching, fall protection, confined space, silica, scaffolding, rigging & signaling.
Knowledge of EHS standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free culture.
Collaborate with the team to implement the project site safety program.
Maintain a program encouraging safe behavior and training compliance.
Present site training topics including safety orientation for new team members.
Verify SDS and Health and Safety Manuals are available on site.
Monitor safety communications and toolbox talks to ensure training effectiveness.
Ensure task-based training is in place for all workers.
Coordinate with safety and project management to monitor the program and report findings.
Perform regular safety inspections on projects.
Assist in onsite worker’s compensation needs and return-to-work processes.
