Job summary

Flexential is seeking a Data Center Operations professional in Hillsboro, OR to maintain 99.999% uptime and oversee critical data center systems. The role requires hands-on maintenance, vendor coordination, and strong ability to read blueprints and specifications.

The candidate will support disaster recovery drills, commissioning efforts, and compliance with AHJ requirements, while executing change windows and providing power provisioning for customer orders. Travel up to 5% may be required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of data center experience.
• 4+ years of root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
• Experience with building automation systems.
• 4+ years in a critical infrastructure environment.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in data centers (feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS, ATS, PDU, chillers, pumps, AHU, CRAH).
• Applicable military experience.
• Applicable trade experience.

Responsibilities

• 24x7 facility on-call responsibility.
• Monitor and maintain the operations, maintenance, and repair of all mission-critical equipment and systems supporting 24x7 data center operations to achieve 99.999% uptime and 100% compliance with all customer SLAs.
• Manage vendor relationships.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, project plans, and other technical documents.
• Drive change toward operational excellence goals.
• Identify constraints and propose solutions.
• Assist in disaster recovery "dry run" exercises.
• Assist in commissioning efforts.
• Maintain AHJ requirements.
• Maintain and implement change windows per company policies.
• Assist in the provisioning of power for customer orders and other electrical modifications as assigned while maintaining a safe work environment.
• Assist with off-hours and weekend maintenance activities when required.
• Assist with reports on customer utilization, including space and power.
• Read and prepare Method of Procedures (MOPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all maintenance and operational aspects of the data center.
• Perform assigned facility rounds to ensure proper equipment operation, aesthetics, and cleanliness.
• Monitor and respond to facility equipment alerts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
