Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Project Engineer to join our on-site construction teams in California.

You will work daily on construction sites, coordinating with general contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of data center facilities. You will develop tracking dashboards, review design modifications, and manage document control while maintaining safety and quality standards across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or 1+ years of relevant discipline work experience.
• 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
• 5+ years of Microsoft Office experience including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional communication between regional general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Develop and maintain tracking systems for design changes, RFIs, and change orders with dashboards for leadership review.
• Evaluate Method of Procedure (MOP) submissions for thoroughness, necessity, and risk.
• Manage vendor onboarding including security credentialing and orientation programs.
• Maintain current project management software with milestone updates and document control.
• Coordinate and monitor owner-furnished material deliveries to construction sites.
• Establish and manage a centralized repository for contractor-supplied construction data.
• Oversee quality assurance programs with checklists for substantial completion, safety, and quality control.
