Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Project Engineer to support the construction of AWS data centers in Oregon. You will coordinate with operations, networks, controls, and commissioning teams to ensure high-quality delivery and on-site efficiency.

The role requires strong vendor management, knowledge of data-center operations, and proficiency with MS Office. On-site work in Boardman, OR is expected with a focus on timely documentation and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of vendor management experience.
• 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
• 5+ years of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experience.

Responsibilities

• Leading cross-functional communication and coordination between regional general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring seamless information flow for construction protocols, documentation access, and standardized procedures
• Developing and maintaining comprehensive tracking systems for design modifications, RFIs, and change orders, creating detailed dashboards with priority levels and deadlines for regional leadership review
• Evaluating Method of Procedure (MOP) submissions for thoroughness, necessity, and risk assessment
• Managing vendor onboarding processes, including security credentialing and orientation programs
• Maintaining current project management software with critical milestone updates, correspondence records, and document control
• Coordinating and monitoring owner-furnished material deliveries to ensure timely arrival at construction sites
• Establishing and managing a centralized repository for contractor-supplied construction data
• Overseeing quality assurance programs through implementation of various checklists, including substantial completion verification, safety protocols, and quality control measures
