Job summary

Meta seeks a Production Operations Engineer to join our Data Center team, focusing on server hardware and Linux-based operations. You will troubleshoot, automate, and scale data center systems, working across cross-functional teams to improve reliability.

You will contribute to root-cause analysis, deploy new hardware, and drive improvements in tooling and processes while participating in 24/7 on-call rotations and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• BS, BA or BEng in technical field or commensurate experience.
• 5+ years IT infrastructure experience (Systems Admin/DevOps/SRE).
• Linux in complex IT environments for triage and debugging.
• Hands-on server hardware knowledge including storage.
• Knowledge of data center interdependencies (electrical, cooling, networking).
• Experience driving root cause analysis and project-related automation.
• Familiar with scripting: Bash, Python, or similar; IPMI/serial console experience.

Responsibilities

• Resolve platform issues and drive root cause analysis in data centers.
• Lead deep-dives on technical incidents from tooling to hardware failures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on hardware and automation projects.
• Intro new platforms and hardware to sites with partners and global teams.
• Use data and tooling to identify issues and communicate with stakeholders.
• Identify corrective actions and drive improvements in processes and tools.
• Provide engineering support and maintain data center server documentation.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations and travel up to 15%.
