Job summary

Meta seeks an experienced Data Center Production Operations Engineer to support platform health, troubleshoot hardware, automate tasks, and drive improvements in large-scale data centers. Responsibilities include root-cause analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and on-call rotation.

15% travel may be required. Minimum qualifications include a technical BS/BA/BEng and 5+ years in infrastructure, with strong Linux, hardware, and automation skills.

Qualifications

• BS/BA/BEng in a technical field or commensurate experience.
• 5+ years IT infra experience in enterprise environments (SysAdmin/DevOps/SRE).
• Linux in complex IT environments with triage, debug and troubleshoot skills.
• Hands-on server hardware knowledge including storage.
• Familiarity with data center interdependencies (electrical, cooling, cabling, security, network).
• Experience driving root cause analysis and technical projects including automation.

Responsibilities

• Resolve tickets and drive root cause for platform health.
• Conduct deep dives into highly technical issues in data centers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on hardware and automation projects.
• Lead introduction of new platforms and hardware to site with partners.
• Use tooling and data analysis to identify issues and communicate with stakeholders.
• Identify corrective actions for hardware issues and coordinate with vendors.
• Contribute to design changes to improve serviceability and repair efficiency.
• Use scripting/automation to solve hardware/software issues at scale.
• Maintain runbooks, procedures, and documentation.
