Job summary

Meta seeks an experienced Data Center Production Operations Engineer to join our Production Operations team in Fort Worth, TX. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize data center servers, storage, and related infrastructure, leveraging scripting and automation to scale issue resolution.

Qualifications

• BS, BA or BEng in technical field or commensurate experience.
• 5+ years of technical IT experience within an infrastructure environment, in roles such as Systems Administrator, DevOps Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer.
• Intermediate-level Linux understanding in a complex IT environment with triage, debugging, and troubleshooting server issues.
• Hands-on experience with server hardware and components, including storage.
• Knowledge of data center interdependencies: electrical, cooling, cabling, security, and network.
• Experience driving to root cause and influencing design changes for serviceability.
• Experience in projects related to process improvement, technology, and automation.
• Ability to communicate clearly to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of HTTP, DNS, RAID, DHCP.
• Experience guiding external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Resolve tickets and address root cause, including remote troubleshooting and physical inspection.
• Participate in deep dives and RCA of hardware, network, and tooling issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on processes, hardware and automation projects.
• Lead introduction of new platforms and hardware to sites with partners and global resources.
• Use data to identify issues and communicate with stakeholders, escalating as needed.
• Identify corrective actions for hardware issues with internal teams and vendors.
• Influence future design changes for ease of serviceability.
• Develop scripts and tooling to scale hardware and software issue resolution.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and systems for efficiency and repair quality.
• Use data analytics to maximize server uptime and utilization.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members on better issue resolution and tool updates.
• Maintain documentation such as procedures, runbooks and guides.
• Build cross-functional relationships to influence policies and global operations.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Travel up to 15%.
