Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Preconstruction Manager in Portland, OR, to join the Data Center Innovations division. This role leads conceptual estimating for major mechanical systems, manages budgets and risks, and partners with Project Managers to ensure seamless preconstruction to construction transitions.

You will oversee design phases, cost codes, and manpower planning, while maintaining strong client communication and delivering accurate forecasts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Own all conceptual estimates for major mechanical systems and preconstruction budget.
• Manage scope, budget and risk across a portfolio of projects from early design through construction.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure smooth transition from preconstruction to construction phases.
• Develop and implement comprehensive construction plans and cost control measures.
• Prepare and review design contractor/subcontractor bids and change orders.
