Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager - Data Center Construction to lead preconstruction strategies for data center projects, from design through permitting, ensuring safety, schedule and budget while maximizing client satisfaction.

The role requires expertise in conceptual estimating of large mechanical systems, managing budgets and scope, coordinating with PMs, and delivering accurate forecasts. A strong background in construction management and scheduling software is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10–20+ years in project management, engineering or construction.
• OSHA 10 certification completed.
• Experience with large data center projects preferred.
• PE/CPM/LEED designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction management for data center projects from design through permitting.
• Develop conceptual mechanical budgets and maintain budgets and scope.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure smooth transition to construction.
• Mitigate risk, manage margins, and produce accurate forecasts.
• Mentor and coach project teams and lead department initiatives.
