Job summary

Ericsson Inc. is seeking a Data Center Optical Engineer to lead work in customer data centers and co-locations, ensuring reliable installation, maintenance, and operation of optical transport infrastructure.

This role interfaces with customers and vendors, auditing quality and guiding teams through installations, migrations, and break/fix tasks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on fiber optic cabling experience, perform optical testing, and interpret MoPs and network diagrams.

Qualifications

• 3–15 years of experience in data center operations or similar tech environment with direct customer interaction.
• Strong hands-on experience with connectorized fiber optic cabling (single-mode and multi-mode).
• Experience with optical testing and transport troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily audits of work at customer data centers and provide feedback to technicians.
• Interact with customers through ticketing tools or in person, providing clear reports and updates.
• Assist with fiber installation, decommissioning, break/fix, remediation and migration activities across data center optical and transport environments.
• Read and interpret cut sheets and network diagrams to ensure accurate port connections and cable management.
