Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer, Data Centers in Tempe, AZ. You will oversee data center operations, support the Chief Engineer, and ensure uptime through strong technical leadership and proactive maintenance.

The role requires 5+ years in data center environments, knowledge of power distribution, cooling, UPS, and BMS, and certifications such as CDCP or DCPRO. PE and multi-site experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in data center operations or mission-critical facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, cooling, UPS, generators, and BMS.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, TIA, and Uptime Institute guidelines.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and respond to incidents in high-availability environments.
• Proven leadership and ability to mentor technical staff.
• Experience with facility management software and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day data center operations to maximize uptime and reliability.
• Support Chief Engineer in supervising engineering teams, technicians, and vendors.
• Monitor critical infrastructure performance and control building automation platforms.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and corrective repairs per schedules.
• Serve as first point of contact for electrical distribution incidents and escalation.
• Participate in after-hours incident response and RCA investigations.
• Collaborate with teams on safety, upgrades, and efficiency projects.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate with clients about performance and activities.
• Support capacity planning and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
