Job summary
JLL is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer, Data Centers in Tempe, AZ to support the safe, reliable operation of mission-critical facilities. You will collaborate with the Chief Engineer to oversee daily engineering activities, mentor teams, and ensure uptime through proactive maintenance and proactive improvements.
You will monitor electrical, cooling, UPS, and BMS systems, respond to incidents, and drive capacity planning and technical reporting to clients, while upholding safety and quality
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in data center operations or mission-critical facilities
- Strong knowledge of power distribution, cooling, UPS, generators, and BMS
- Familiar with ASHRAE, TIA, and Uptime Institute guidelines
- Proven troubleshooting during high-availability incidents
- Leads and mentors technical staff and vendors
Responsibilities
- Assist in daily data center operations and maintenance for maximum uptime
- Supervise engineering teams, technicians, and vendors with safety in mind
- Monitor critical infrastructure performance across electrical, cooling, UPS, and BMS
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and corrective repairs per schedules
- Participate in incident response, RCA investigations, and corrective actions
- Support safety, compliance, upgrades, and operational projects
- Prepare technical reporting, procedures, and client communications
