Job summary

JLL in Richardson, TX is seeking a Data Center Operating Engineer to maintain critical building systems including UPS, MV electrical, generators, HVAC, and controls. You will monitor equipment, record readings, and ensure 100% uptime in a fast-paced data center environment.

The role requires hands-on data center experience, 2+ years in the field, and strong communication skills. Preferred are Corrigo/Salesforce/Zendesk/ServiceNow experience, EPA 608, and NFPA70E training.

Qualifications

• 2+ years related work experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Hands-on data center/critical facility experience.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems to 100% uptime (fire/life safety, HVAC, chillers, crah/crac, plumbing, controls, electrical including UPS, ATS, PDU, transformers).
• Analyze operation of various systems, determine the cause of problems, and take corrective action.
• Learn and understand the data center site to manage incidents and events that put critical systems at risk.
• Manage work orders, CMMS, vendor management, and customer-facing tickets.
• Understand and comply with emergency escalation procedures.
