Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated seeks a Chief Engineer for Data Center Operations in Allen, TX. This role leads the engineering team to safely operate data center systems and respond to tenant needs, while protecting asset value and meeting lifecycle goals.

The Chief Engineer oversees maintenance, energy management, and project coordination with contractors and facility leadership, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Five to seven years of JLL engineering experience or equivalent industry experience.
• Three to five years supervisory experience or experience as a Lead Engineer.
• Thorough knowledge of data center HVAC, electrical, plumbing, automation, and life safety/fire protection systems.
• Thorough understanding of data center codes and standards.
• Ability to interact professionally with tenants and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Accurate time records of Operating Engineers and submission to payroll by deadlines.
• Track overtime within budget parameters.
• Inspect data centers and equipment at least monthly.
• Prepare work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
• Report deficiencies and action plan to General Manager.
• Develop and implement energy management practices and fire safety procedures.
• Coordinate with Facility Manager/Operations Manager on tenant construction and capital improvements.
