Job summary

Google LLC is seeking a Data Center Services Mechanical Engineer Metro Lead to oversee mechanial and HVAC systems at the Kansas, USA site with remote eligibility. You will bridge high-level thermal designs with on-site execution, ensuring reliability and efficiency in data center cooling infrastructures.

This role requires being the primary on-site authority during construction and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with thermal topology including evaporative and non-evaporative cooling.
• 5 years of experience with piping and fluid dynamics, including chilled water plant overviews, pumping systems, and hydronic balancing.
• 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Act as definitive technical resource for mechanical contractors and Engineers of Record (EORs).
• Perform periodic site walk-throughs to verify installations align with specifications (pressure testing, weld inspections, insulation, equipment placement).
• Ensure evaporative and non-evaporative cooling systems meet standards while managing site thermal performance.
• Lead field-side RFI process to resolve conflicts and support design changes during construction.
