Job summary

Data Center Frontier LLC is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for Data Center Design in NYC with remote options. Lead design for Critical HVAC, cooling and mechanical systems in new data centers and expansions, guiding the team from concept through construction and commissioning.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of experience in data centers, PE/EIT a plus, and a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering complex projects on time.

Qualifications

• 15–20+ years of mechanical engineering experience in data centers or mission critical facilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar; PE/EIT a plus.
• Experience leading a mechanical design team and consulting firm exposure.
• Hyperscale/colocation data center design, testing and commissioning experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, CFD, piping, ductwork, and energy modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical Design Team from concept to construction and provide technical leadership.
• Act as Engineer of Record on select assignments and mentor junior engineers.
• Develop conceptual designs from meetings and coordinate with architects and contractors.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and client communications across projects.
• Establish project objectives and write clear field work statements.
