Job summary

Graycor Construction Company is seeking a Superintendent to direct and oversee all daily activities of the jobsite, managing subcontractors and labor for construction projects.

You will ensure safety and quality compliance with the project specifications, focusing on cost-effective execution while maintaining the schedule. The role requires strong leadership and the ability to manage look-ahead schedules and project documents.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of construction experience as a Superintendent.
• Ability to travel extensively and reside at the project site for extended periods.
• Capability of maintaining a Critical Path project schedule.
• Thorough understanding of project documents, blueprints, revisions, specifications.
• Strong leadership, self-starter with drive for zero punch lists.
• Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• General computer skills; willingness to adopt scheduling/reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Implement safety policies and quality programs; safety audits are a core priority.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors and labor; plan look-ahead schedules and project controls.
• Identify and report problems to the Project Manager; document on-site activities that may impede progress.
• Review change orders with Project Manager; monitor budgets for each activity; coordinate material receipt.
• Prepare project status reports; provide status and photos weekly; deliver complete daily reports to the Project Manager.
• Maintain open communication with the Owner's representative; attend progress/scheduling meetings and align with client expectations.
