Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking a Site Manager (Data Centers) to lead day-to-day field operations on hyperscale data center projects across the United States. You will oversee mobilization through turnover, manage safety, quality, and schedule, and coordinate with the on-site team and subcontractors.

The role requires 10+ years in construction with data center exposure; strong leadership, scheduling, and communication skills are essential. Travel to project sites nationwide is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial construction experience, with data center or mission-critical experience strongly preferred.
• Must have a minimum of 10+ years related construction experience.
• Proven experience leading large-scale, complex construction projects from mobilization through commissioning and turnover.
• Strong understanding of mission-critical construction environments and the importance of schedule, quality, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations for complex, mission-critical data center construction projects.
• Oversee construction activities from site mobilization through final turnover and commissioning.
• Own all aspects of field activities from start-up to completion, including safety, quality, schedule, planning, logistics, and subcontractor coordination.
• Maintain and track the project schedule; create two-three week lookaheads and use the schedule as a management tool.
• Provide real-time data to PM/Scheduler for schedule maintenance.
• Ensure Site Safety requirements are met and counsel subcontractors on violations.
• Train project team on Gray software (CMO, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Concur, E-Time, GoGray).
• Conduct site and weekly meetings to coordinate subcontractor activities and keep teams aligned with the schedule.
• Prepare monthly project reports on safety, schedule, subcontractor performance, quality, budget, and customer relations.
• Collaborate with PM team to ensure timely buyout of subcontracts and procurement scheduling.
• Lead, coach, and mentor subordinates on professional contractual relationships with all parties.
• Establish and manage a safe, compliant jobsite culture; model Gray values.
• Lead growth of team members through mentoring; manage training.
