Job summary

Yahoo Holdings Inc. seeks a data center technician to maintain servers, storage, and networking in a 24x7 environment. You will diagnose hardware and L1-3 issues, leverage AI tools to analyze logs, and automate routine tasks with scripting. This role requires on-site work at the Lockport NY facility with shift rotations.

You should have a technical degree or equivalent experience, familiarity with UNIX/Linux, TCP/IP, and scripting, plus an interest in AI-driven automation and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments and basic system administration.
• Familiarity with AI tools to aid in issuing CLI commands and log parsing.
• Experience with scripting languages for automation tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair rack-mount servers, storage, and network gear in a 24x7 data center.
• Diagnose hardware, Layer 1-3 network, and system issues and troubleshoot.
• Leverage AI-assisted log analysis to quickly isolate faults and reduce MTTR.
• Automate daily maintenance with AI coding/scripting tools.
• Interface with site eng and platform teams on complex changes.
